In recent years, negative interaction between human being and common leopard has increased. Among the various types of negative interactions, livestock depredation and human loss are higher. Government of Nepal has prepared and enacted a number of legislations and institutional arrangements, however, no particular conservation action plan exists for leopard conservation and human-common leopard conflict mitigation. The Human-Common Leopard Conflict Mitigation and Strategic Plan is being prepared for government with the financial assitance of Hariyo Ban Program, a USAID funded program run by a consortium of WWF Nepal, Care International, FECOFUN and NTNC.
